Lorraine (Lorry) Herdeen Has worshiped at St. Mary Magdalene church in Coral Springs for thirty nine years. During that time she has started a FISH program food pantry to assist Needy families, served on the vestry, facilitated youth groups, coordinates and serves as an Eucharistic minister and facilitates the women’s bible study. She was also on the original committee with Lynn Ramshaw to help create the St. Laurence Chapel.
Lorry was the executive director of the Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, Inc. for thirty six years. During that time she led the growth of the centers from serving 60 economically disadvantaged children to serving over 600 annually. She also successfully lobbied for the Florida drug free school zone law to include preschool locations. Lorry received a certificate of Excellence in Non-Profit Leadership and Management.
After a short retirement, Lorry now works for a small non-profit agency, American Assoc. of Caregiving Youth, that supports middle school and high school students who are caring for ailing family members. She is currently the Volunteer Manager and is enjoying sharing her vast knowledge of non-profit administration.
